Art lovers and cultural enthusiasts are in for a treat this October with the Hibre Kelemata Exhibition and Live Art, taking place on October 11 and 12 at Kebena House. Organized by acclaimed Ethiopian artists Lidia Nigussie, Lij Art, and Yohannes Molla, the event promises a unique blend of visual art and live performances that celebrate Ethiopia’s rich cultural heritage.

“Hibre Kelemata,” which can be translated as “Unity in Diversity,” captures the essence of the exhibition. The event showcases an array of artworks—from paintings and sculptures to interactive mixed-media installations—reflecting Ethiopia’s vibrant cultural mosaic. Each artist brings their own perspective, exploring themes ranging from tradition and identity to contemporary social issues.

A highlight of the exhibition is its live art performances, where attendees can witness creativity unfold in real time. From live painting sessions to performance art and collaborative installations, visitors have the opportunity to engage with the artists directly, creating a dynamic and immersive art experience.

Beyond celebrating art, the Hibre Kelemata exhibition also gives back to the community. 30% of all entrance fees will be donated to the Emahoy Romanwork Children’s Charity, supporting education and opportunities for children in need. The entrance fee is 200 ETB, making it an accessible way for the public to experience art while contributing to a meaningful cause.
